Hey everyone. I feel like I haven’t done this kind of post in a long time so here it goes: how my Saturday night went from fun to okay to meh to I hate the world.
I went clubbing with friends and I invited a mutual friend, T, knowing this person is interested in a girl in that group of friends. When we got to the club, it was empty, dead. So of us decided to stick around while others opted to go pre-drink at a local bar. I stayed at the club; I didn’t feel like going back and forth. After a while, it became crowded and we danced, it was fun. A little bit passed midnight, I decided to head home. I have laryngitis right now so I didn’t want to stay up too late and worse my state.
On my way to the metro, I met with the people who were just leaving the bar and they convinced me to come back to the club with them, promising they would drive me home so I accepted. We danced and it was fun! My feet were killing me and just as I was about to ask if I could get that ride home, everyone migrated to karaoke. Even though I can’t speak or sing, I joined since it’s always fun to watch people sing and I would be able to sit and relax my feet.
Wrong. Somehow, the group was split and I ended up in a karaoke room with people I didn’t know. Awkward. So I hung out most of the time in the hallway, playing FIFA and drinking with the staff who had pity for me since my friends were pretty much deserting me.
When I saw the friend who had promised me a ride home, he told me he had to leave but that my other friend had promised to take care of me. I didn’t mind since that other friend, T, drove me home a few times already. I waited patiently while that friend was picking up another friend, M, and as soon as he was back, I asked him when I could go home.
He told me that since he was taking M home and other people, it would be in a while since he just got here. I thought that was reasonable. So I waited. And waited. While everyone sang, I was browsing Internet on my iPod and talking to friends on Facebook chat, most of them telling me to go home since it was already so late.
Since I can’t talk, I texted T and BEGGED him to take me home. No reply. Texted a few more times but still nothing. When he came back in our karaoke room, he acted as if nothing happened and that was it for me. I stayed a few minutes, got up, didn’t say anything and walked out like a boss.
I grabbed a cab and later texted M that I was gone and to tell T. The reply didn’t come in until a while later: either they noticed that I had been gone for a while and the guy at the front told them that I had left or M happened to check his phone and saw my text. Either way, M texted me that he thinks T’s phone is dead and that’s he says sorry. My reply?

If you’re going to take responsibility and take it upon yourself to get me home safely, without me even asking you to, then fucking do it in a timely matter. I was going to go home with the last metro, which would have cost me nothing but because I trusted you, I decided to have fun a little bit more but ended up spending 40$ that I don’t have on a cab ride four hours later. It’s not like I acted like a brat about it either: I asked you once, you told me to wait. I asked again two hours later, no reply. Got fed up. You owe me 40$, pal.
It sucks because before the karaoke, I had a lot of fun at the club. One dude tried to pick us up my friend and I… we both didn’t say anything and stared at him until he said : “ Do you speak English?” and I replied : “ No speak English no” and he left. Another time, while I was at the bar getting a water bottle, a guy decided to be suave and pay for my water bottle. Thanks dude, but that still won’t get me in your pants. Or to dance with you as a matter of fact.

Update: Ok so obviously I wrote this when I was still upset. I talked to my friend (well via texts… laryngitis = no voice) and he was really sorry and we made up. I also apologised for turning down his previous apologies.
