Wet n Wild Brushes: Youtube Made Me Buy It!

Hello pretty pretty pink brushes! How could I resist? These were all over Youtube and Instagram!

When my friend Melanie from Mini Neko was in Atlanta for business, I couldn’t help to ask her to get these brushes for me! These brushes have been annoyingly rare in Canada – I have been to 5 walmarts and couldn’t find them. Melanie was kind enough to get me nearly the whole Wet N Wild brush line! She picked up for me;

  •  The Foundation Brush
  •  The Fan Brush
  •  The Large Stipple Brush
  •  The Small Stipple Brush
  •  The Blush Brush
  •  The Flat Top Brush
  •  The Powder Brush
  •  The Contour Brush
  •  The Large Concealer Brush
  •  The Small Concealer Brush
  •  The Small Eyeshadow Brush
  •  The Crease Brush
  •  The Large Eyeshadow Brush
  •  The Angles Liner Brush
  •  The Smoky Liner Brush

Woof… that’s a lot of brushes!

I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth these brushes were – when you think cheap and nice makeup brushes, you don’t think Wet n Wild! These brushes are a great addition to my collection!

The brushes are a great buy! I really have no complaints for these aside that some of the fluffier brushes, like the Blush and Powder brush did shed slightly when I washed them but nothing bad. Other than that – the brushes are amazing. They feel great in my hand, not to heavy, not to light and the ferrule feels study.

I particularly liked the Smoky Liner and the Crease brush! These are as good as some of my Sephora Pro brushes… at the fraction of the cost and way cuter!

I am absolutely in love with the Fan brush! I’m channeling Tati here and I am loving using this to apply highlighter. Some might prefer a denser brush but since I like to apply my highlighter sparingly, this brush is perfect!

I also love how sparse the two Stipple brushes are! Some would prefer a dense and stiff stipple brush… I don’t.

The Powder and Blush brush are fine. They are not special but they are not bad. I am not sure I will be drawn to using these over my Real Techniques brushes… However if you don’t have any powder or blush brushes, the Wet n Wild brushes are a good option.

Overall – these brushes are worth the hype and I’m so glad I own all of these! More importantly, these are vegan, cruelty-free and all synthetic brushes! I love cruelty-free beauty so this is a win!

All that is missing is availability in Canada 😉 Alright, Wet n Wild? <3

The Cosplayer’s Kit: Makeup Essentials!

Convention season is just around the corner and it’s time to freshen up those cosplay makeup kits! Luckily, your friendly Shmoo is here with a few recommendations – all thanks to her makeup addiction !

I could dedicate a whole post just about my favourite eyeliners…  but today, let’s keep it simple with liquid eyeliners!

When you need a very fine and precise line, K-Palette’s 1 DAY TATTOO Real Lasting WP Waterproof is a winner. I love how this eyeliner is very long lasting and includes a fiber brush!

Also straight from Japan, if we are talking eyeliner, KOJI’s Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black deserves a hurray! It is one of the very few eyeliners I have continuously purchased over the years because of its formula and its fiber brush. While it isn’t waterproof, it is water resistant and if you use a base and set it correctly, this puppy will last a very long convention day!

A little closer from home, a very popular eyeliner that I have also re-purchased several times is Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner. Formulated to be waterproof, this great eyeliner is also free of animal-derived ingredients and is not tested on animals. Yay for cruelty-free makeup!

Finally, to round things up, Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is the only eyeliner with a felt tip that I like. Also, of all the eyeliner mentioned… it is the only one available in various colours. Hey you, you need green eyeliner for a Jojo cosplay? No problem, Stila has your back! I particularly love their Jet Black eyeliner as it is the deepest black of all of the eyeliners on this list!

Eyeshadows & Palettes

God help me for I am obsessed with palettes… but let’s be real here. Most cosplayers don’t need 32 eyeshadow palettes! If you stick with neutral colours, you’ll be fine! Here are a few palettes to consider adding to your kit this season that… hopefully… won’t break the bank!

If your Target hasn’t up and left you, check out Sonia Kashuk’s Eye Couture palette. Available in both matte and shimmer, this palette has all the neutral tones you need to make your eyes pop – without breaking the bank. If you are Canadian… continue cursing Target.

Don’t worry Canadians – tons of brands and stores haven’t left us. Like NYC, available pretty much everywhere! They have a few fun palettes like Lovatics by Demi Lovato palette for a lot of fun nudes. And for when you need the pop of colours, NYC has got you covered with the HD Color Trio Eye Shadow!

Now, if you are like me and your local Sephora calls your name regularly, you are definitely tempted to get a fancy palette. Fear not. The fancy, shiny palette is the acclaimed Chocolate Bar by Too Faced. Duh. All of the nudes – matte and shimmer. BONUS: it’s smells like chocolate.

Now hey… this is is a lot of make-up and a lot of money. Don’t worry, I got your back. One of my favourite palettes is The Balm Cosmetics’ 12-Color Nude’tude palette! This one is a lot of fun to play with AND has naked ladies on it 8D

For when you just need one random colour – Colourpop is your go to. Canadian friends, this is where we curse our American counterparts since they have free shipping options… BUT don’t worry! This brand is so much fun – plan a group order for eyeshadows, blushes, highlighters and lip products. Literally everything from this brand is worth it!

Mascaras are super personal but I believe in 2 things; it should always be waterproof and it should never clump! So here are few of my favourites that live up to those expectations.

L’Oreal’s Telescopic mascara is my ultimate favourite. Is it me or this has been around forever? In any case, I love how the thin brush allows me to get all my lashes. It also works great for both top and bottom lashes!

When I first wrote this post, I actually forgot about Clinique’s High Impact Waterproof mascara! I can’t believe it since I use it almost daily ( along with L’Oreal!) This mascara doesn’t clump and really makes your lashes look long. So worth it!

On the more expensive side of the spectrum is Chanel’s Sublime mascara. I’ve been buying this stuff for a long time and while it isn’t marked as waterproof, it certainly deserved a mention for well put it has stayed through conventions!

Finally, Benefit’s They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara wins the mascara game. Maybe a little bit too much because that stuff won’t come off. Which is great – no bleeding eyes for me during conventions, but a little less great when you’re trying to remove your makeup haha.

More Eye Stuff

Obviously, you’re priming those lids because applying those shadows… wait you aren’t? Girl, let’s hook you up with some primer!

My favourite primer is MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pot (in Painterly!) This product is really creamy and makes your eyeshadows stick to your eyelids. Boom. They are are not going anywhere – awesome. It also looks really pretty on its own, especially for the last day of the con, when your eyes are tired and your lids are all kind of shades of purples and blue? Boom. Gone.

On the more wallet-friendly side, NYX’ Eye Shadow Base is a total steal. I mean, for 10$, I feel like I’m stealing from them! and unlike Target, NYX is now available in Canada at Shopper’s! YAY!

Foundation and Face stuff

The obvious one. This is hard to recommend because everyone’s skin is different so for foundation – I can only recommend the ones that I use. For reference, my skin is very fair and dry.

My ultimate favourite foundation is Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation. I get great coverage with this foundation without feeling cakey. Plus, it’s easy to blend – God knows I’m blind when I’m doing my makeup!

On the wallet-friendly side, I also love and frequently use Maybelline’s FIT ME in Dewy + Smooth! I feel like everybody and their grandmother uses this foundation – it’s really great! Not only that, they have a formula for oily skin too!

Don’t forget to put some colour on those cheeks! Maybelline’s Dream Bouncy Blush are one of my favourites since they be applied using your fingers and are so easy to blend!

When it comes to powder, there is only one powder you need. Recently, YouTubers discovered this product so it is a little bit harder to come by… with good reasons! The RCMA No Color Powder is a must! This powder will not only set your regular makeup but also works flawlessly on crazy body paint that we often need to set. For my Canadian gals, don’t worry, Kind of Magic in Ontario has got you covered!

Finally, you need to set that makeup so it won’t move! No runny makeup here, nuh-uh. My favourite setting spray is NYX’s Setting Spray – available in both a dewy or matte finish, depending on how you prefer your makeup!

Torture Tools

All that other stuff you should use to apply makeup with. Duh.

For foundation, or if you favour BB cream, skip the Beauty Blender. We don’t have money for that. Instead, check out the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge! Wet it and you are good to go!

Now, Real Techniques is really awesome for all their make up brushes and if you want to get affordable and durable make up brushes, you should definitely check out their Starter and their Core sets!

If you got fancy with the eyeshadows, you might want to consider fancy eyeshadow brushes. Nah. Stick with Real Techniques and get one good, reliable blending brush, like the Classic Crease Shadow Brush #73 from the Sephora Collection.

For those lashes, no one needs a 25$ Shu Uemura eyelash curler. No one. Joe Fresh Beauty‘s and Revlon‘s Lash curlers are just as good.

* * *

And that’s it, ladies! Hopefully, you discovered some products on this list – if not, what products are your holy grail when attending a convention? 🙂

Love Flush Blush Wardrobe – Quick Review

Oh hey! Look it’s a makeup review! We haven’t had one of those in quite a while!

I recently was on sick leave for a few weeks… it’s really boring being sick. What is a girl to do in her bed?? Play with makeup and renew my friendship with Sephora is one of the many things I did~ Obviously when I heard that Too Faced was releasing a limited edition palette of their hyped blushes, I had to have it!

I like pretty things~ I seized this occasion to FINALLY get a Chocolate Bar. Yum!

The palette includes all 6 popular Love Blush in a convenient palette. Each heart shaped pan includes 0.07 oz of product, comparatively to 0.21 oz of the individual blushes.

I particularly like Love Hangover, Baby Love, How Deep is Your Love ? and Your Love is King – I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing those quite often as they are easy to apply, blend and smell very nice 🙂

I haven’t tested the claim that these last for 16 hours but these have been thoroughly reviewed before… and the consensus is that they are indeed long-wearing.

FullSizeRender 2

Overall I really like this palette and I’m really glad I got it! My only beef with it, and this is just a personal peeve… is the packaging. I dislike cardstock palettes. When compared to other Too Faced palettes that are similar in prices, I feel like Too Faced could have done better with this one.

Still, I’m happy with the product and the colours and my personal peeve with cardstock is not going to make me return this lovely palette.

Katy Perry lashes review

I was at Shopper’s today and I noticed these lashes in a gift section and was quite intrigued by them. I had read a couple of interesting reviews on these lashes and thought I would try them myself! There are four different designs and they all are packaged beautifully. The boxes remind me of Japanese cosmetics, such as Dolly Wink.

I decided to give the Oh, Honey! since they seemed to be quite natural. Oh My! is quite dramatic and I couldn’t think of any occasions where wearing such lashes would actually look nice on me. Sweeties also has a more natural look and I liked how the ends of the lashes are thicker; it reminds me a lot of popular Diamond lashes. Finally, Cool Kitty seems to be the type of lashes I would wear at night, although they kind of remind me of lashes you can get in those 10 for 2$ boxes.

What I like: the lashes are very dense, they don’t look bulky. The length it also ideal and the curl is perfect: some lashes are too curly and end up poking the top of my eyelid. If you would like a more intense curl, they can easily be curled, although they will most likely not fit in a regular eyelashes curler unless you trim them. If you wish to do the elongated lash line style of make up ( like in gyaru ), I recommend using the KOJI no 100 lashes curler to curl them! The lashband is very think, invisible and flexible, making the lashes very light. They are so light, you don’t feel like you’re wearing lashes!

What I didn’t like: the glue that comes with the lashes is not worth trying to use. I recommend sticking to your favorite glue and not wasting your time with the sample provided. Another thing I didn’t like is that the lashes looks little bit shiny. I also wished that that another pair was included since they seem quite fragile and I’m pretty sure they will wear out in no time…

Overall, I think they are very good lashes and I think that they can easily be used for Japanese style make-up! They are also way above other lashes sold in drugstores in terms of quality. The price is quite reasonable and they can easily be found at Shopper’s for 7,99$!

Ain’t a party if it’s not a GlossyParty

Today I attended an extremely cool event organized by Glossy Box Canada! I was extremely lucky: I had left a comment on their blog and they contacted me because a winner who had won a spot for the event couldn’t attend!

The party was such a huge success: Glossy Box had brought in hairdressers, make-up artists and a ton of representatives to talk about the latest beauty products! It was so cool to finally meet other bloggers from Montreal and get to try out new products! Glossy Box was so nice and gave everyone who attended a gigantic goody bag, on top of all the products we received during the event!

Here are some pictures of the event!

It was so much fun and I’m so happy that I’ve met so many amazing and beautiful bloggers! You should all check out Sarah-Jane from “Beauty Talk with Sarah-Jane”, Gina from “Fixations of a Canadian Twentysomething” and The Green Geekette! I had so much fun hanging out with you girls!

Finally I wanted to show the content of the goody bags we received. We ended up with some of the products twice since they were giving them out during the event and we received the goody bags when we left: to our surprise, they contained a lot of things we had already picked up!

IMG_0039so many products oh my god!!! Sebastian, Algemarin, Wella, Marc Anthony, Bioré, Bailey, Kiss, Evian, Elin Blanco, John Frieda, Its Cosmetics, imPress and Beauty So Clean!

Thank you Glossy Box for inviting me to such a fabulous event!

and for my fabulous readers, stay tuned because tomorrow I will have something special for you!

How extremely materialistic of me… I’ve been under so much stress lately, I couldn’t help but fall into retail therapy to feel better.

photo (4)

My friend and co-worker Coco from She Walks On Pearls has been raving about this powder since she got it a few weeks ago and I couldn’t help but give it a try as well since my work is really close to Ogilvy… It was love at first sight. I didn’t mind the price (around 60$ with taxes) this is such a large container, it’s going to last me forever. But most importantly, this powder is magic. I like to say it’s a mix between a cloud, fairy dust and other magical things, it would explain why I find it so wonderful.

It’s funny how something like a silly loose powder can make me feel so calm despite all the problems around me right now.

The incertitude that surrounds me these days is really getting to me: the fear of going on strike, fearing how it might affect my studies, the fear of never being able to graduate…. after all, this would be the second time around, am I cursed? Is getting hard to deal with that kind of anxiety =(

… Looks like I’m going to apply a bit of loose powder now…

FAKE Koji Dolly Wink eyeliner

I really love Dolly Wink products: most of the time, I get them from this great eBayer for a decent price, including shipping fees. Earlier this year, I saw another offer on eBay from a different seller for the Deep Black eyeliner and I thought: “Mhmm I need to stock up on this eyeliner” so I purchased it… to my surprise, I received a cheap, counterfeit Dolly Wink imitation!

As soon as I got the product, I messaged the seller saying that I had received a counterfeit product and that I wanted my money back since I had paid for a KOJI Dolly Wink eyeliner. The seller, alrocku2007, claimed that this was the “Hong Kong” version of this product and that it was the real deal. Clearly, this person doesn’t know what they are talking about so I reported the item to eBay and I wanted to show you pictures of what the counterfeit looks like compared to the real deal.

Left: fake Dolly Wink eyeliner

Right: Koji Dolly Wink eyeliner

The fake eyeliner packaging has a lot of difference from the original one: the shade of pink on top of the box is darker. On the original box, the English text says:

“ Every girl can become a doll! For the girl who wants to be “Otona Kawaii”, it’s a present from Tsubasa”.”

However, the fake box only has the first part of the text:

“Every girl can become a doll!”

and is centered instead of being aligned to the left. Also, the back of the box contains different information at the bottom. Japanese make-up imported in Hong Kong usually don’t have a redesigned packaged but instead will have a sticker with translated information regarding the use of the product and its ingredients and a product code. Oddly enough, the product “made for the Hong Kong market” contains information only in Japanese.

What really made me question the product that I received that the fact that Tsubasa’s picture and the text “ Produced by Tsubasa Masukawa” was replaced by a 24h logo and the text read: “water strong liner” instead. The design of the bow is also very flimsy and off and somewhat cut off.

That really made me realize this was an imitation was the fact that they erased the KOJI logo and replaced it with “Fairy Girl”. KOJI is a well known Japanese make-up that is still up and running and it hasn’t been bought or been replace by “ Fairy Girl”. Surely if they were to market this product in other countries and adapt the packaging, they would keep the name KOJI is on it and Tsubasa’s picture as well otherwise, what’s the point??

BUT all of these could simply be a new packaging for a product but let’s take a look at the eyeliner pen itself. The design of the pen is fairly similar but upon looking at it closely, the dots, bow and logo are blurry: it’s not my camera! Usually when product are repackaged, it’s for the better, the quality of the design isn’t reduced! The cap is also pink and dotted instead of black.

After realizing this a fake product, I would have to be crazy to bring this eyeliner anywhere near my eyes so I tested it out of my hand and on a tissue: the texture of the brush is completely different. The real Dolly Wink eyelier is a fiber brush that’s very flexible and that allows you to make very thin lines and wing your eyeliner perfectly.

The fake eyeliner has a very stiff felt brush that only produces a somewhat thin line if you place it at 90°!

So obviously, this is an imitation and I could have avoided getting this by reading the reviews this person had because despite a majority of positive reviews, negative reviews stood out.

Lesson learned!

Stick to the eBayers I know and have ONLY positive feedback! I hope this post helps someone to NOT buy a fake one by accident!

Seoul Beauty Haul

Hi everyone! I’m back to school and I’m already looking forward for Christmas vacation haha Maybe because this is my last year before I can finally attend University! I should be in university already but I got stuck in college after a major seizure a few years ago that pretty much screwed everything for me so I can’t wait to FINALLY be done with this! Everyone is so young in college…

In any case, I’ve been both busy and lazy but Emily’s recent beauty haul post reminded me that I should show you what I go in Korea as well!

Shopping for cosmetics in Korea is amazing even for girls who aren’t koo-koo about make-up: you find Etude House, Missha, The Face Shop, Skinfood, etc. EVERYWHERE YOU GO! I was shopping in Myeondong at one point and there was 3 different Etude House store in the same area. You find these shops in the metro and in the street, sometimes not even 500m from each other!

I think I was quite reasonable for make-up but I really went bananas for sheet mask! Etude House had an event sale 35 masks for 30 000W. I also stocked up on Missha and My Beauty Diary *koff not Korean koff*. As for the other masks on the pictures, these were “samples” given!

There you have it! I should post about the clothes that I also got in Korea although I didn’t get that many~

THISWASFOREVER beauty swap–part 1

WAAAAAAH I’m leaving in a few hours for Seoul! This feels so surreal, I’m so excited! I can’t sleep haha…

I thought I would have had time to blog about a lot of things before I leave but turns out I ended up really busy… I forgot how leaving for a vacation requires so much work!

I still wanted to show you the amazing goodies that Emily from THISWASFOREVER sent me from Hong Kong! Back in April, we decided to do a beauty swap. Emily spent her summer teaching in China after spending a bit of time in Hong Kong. Since I’m leaving for Seoul in a few hours, we thought this would be a great opportunity to do a beauty swap, because hello! Asian cosmetics have this little tendency of being amazing and cute at the same time!

I don’t didn’t have much time to review everything she sent me so I just wanted to highlight the big stars of her package!

I was surprised to see how many items she was able to fit in that box! Lashes, candies, BB creams…!

KATE Lip Gloss in PK-2

Liole Blotting paper ( so convenient !!!!)

EOS Lip Balm – Sweet Mint

And of course…

More Dolly Wink lashes! Emily knows how much of a Dolly Wink fangirl I am so she got me these adorable No.1 Dolly Sweet lashes. I have yet to try them but I can’t wait to! One more addition to my Dolly Wink collection hehe!

As you saw in the first picture, there are A LOT of products! I’m only showing you a few today – I’ll talk about the masks in a different post, most likely when I am back in Canadialand!

In the meantime, if you were to visit Korea, what would be THE place that you would ABSOLUTELY want to visit?

More Canmake Cream Cheek Blushes!

Yay! I have the next 2 (maybe 3) days off so I spent the day cleaning my room… again… e000_051

Just to make my day a bit brighter, I finally received more lashes and canmake cream cheeks blushes! Canada Post was on strike then on a lock-out for around a month for a month and mail delivery is still very slow so I wasn’t expecting to see those before I leave for Korea… yeah… that’s how bad it is >.>

I’m glad I received more canmake cream blushes! If you read my review, you know that I’m absolutely in love with those! Not a day goes day without using these blushes! Since summer started, I wanted to use a different colour so I got Marshmallow Pink (08) and Strawberry Whip (03).

IMG_0088Strawberry Whip (03).

IMG_0091Marshmallow Pink (08)

IMG_0094The packaging, as always, is adorable!

I don’t think it’s necessary for me to review these blushes again: just like for Sweet Apricot  (05) and Cherry Pink (02), they are very creamy, easy to blend and buildable! I also swatched them on my wrist for you 🙂 Please excuse my extreme paleness ^^’

IMG_0105Bottom: Strawberry Whip (03)  Top: Marshmallow Pink (08)

That’s it for today… again I didn’t take pictures of my wearing the blushes, I’ve been doing laundry and cleaning all day so I’m not wearing any make-up at all! Oups!!

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black Review

It’s been a while since I reviewed a cosmetic product. I’ve been quite a good student lately so I decided that I deserved a little present from me to me with all my love so I got Dolly Wink’s Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black!

First of all, the packaging is extremely cute. As for the size of the eyeliner; it is a little bit smaller and thinner compared to Revlon’s Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen.

The brush is 9mm long and very thin at the tip. At first, I thought it was a felt brush but looking closely at it, I realised that it is actually made of fibers. Knowing this eyeliner already has great reviews, I decided to put it right to the test!

1 2

3 4

  1. I tested how easy it was to and the ability to make thin lines – check!
  2. I have a problem with eyeliners smudging and cracking throughout the day, even with a good primer so I rubbed the eyeliner very hard (harder then anyone would ever rub their eyes!) and tugged on my skin, trying to make the eyeliner crack but nothing happened. The colour seems a little bit less intense but the area around it is still clean.
  3. Waterproof uh? Alright, I placed my hand under cold water and rubbed the eyeliner with a finger for a good 15 seconds and, again, it didn’t budge!
  4. I’m a very lazy person: I shower before removing my make-up then clean what’s waterproof with make up remover later. A few seconds under warm water and barely any rubbing is all it took to clean this liner!

Lancôme Artliner in Noir VS Dolly Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black

I love it. Love love love love love it! I use Lancôme’s Artliner and I’ve never been completely satisfied with it but at its price, you convince yourself that you are! Artliner is very pigmented but the tip of the brush is round and makes it tricky at times to wing your eyeliner as it is too flexible. Also, the formula is not as smudge-proof as I would like it do be. In comparison, Dolly Wink’s tip is a lot easier to control, not too hard, not too flexible. The formula is smudge proof, dries quickly and easy to remove (no make-up remover required!)

In my opinion, Dolly Wink is a much better eyeliner than Lancôme’s and at a fraction of the cost including shipping cost. However, I wish it was also offered in brown! Koji, please tell us you have a brown one coming up ;D

Gets: H&M + Make-up

Hi everyone!

I thought it would be nice to show you recent items that I got this week!  Yesteday, I learned that I didn’t get the job that I had worked hard for…e000_062 I was really bummed out but I decided to walk around town today and give my resume here and there! I really picked the wrong day to do this; it was rainy and cold! I ended up staying in a cafe for a bit then I ended up at H&M!

I’ve been looking for nice shirts and I fell in love with these two at H&M! They are made out of cotton and it’s so light, they are perfect for summer time! I had a hard time picking only one so I ended up buying it in light blue and in pastel floral!

IMG_0082Blue is my favourite colour!

IMG_0084I thought this one was fun and different from a lot of floral patterns out there!

I’ve also been looking for nice socks to wear in pumps; I’ve seen it in a lot of magazine and I really love the look! I like how it can transform a pair of shoes and it goes with pretty much every shoe type icon_upheart

I had seen some floral socks only but they were really pricy… without shipping! So I’m glad that I didn’t buy them and foud these instead at H&M! I just wish they also had pink floral socks but I can’t ask for too much~ I also got lace socks and a pack of brown, pink and ocre socks with ruffles at the top!

I also decided to try Maybelline’s new Fit Me foundation and Revlon’s Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude. I also received new lenses from mukuCHU; Geo Xtra in Violet (review will be up next week!)

As for the foundation, I really like it. I was a bit of a gamble; I read reviews online… some love it, some hate it so I decided to take a chance since it was only 8$! It’s a light coverage foundation and it gives you a nice dewy finish. I also love their 115 shade: I’ve never found a foundation that fit my skin colour so well! Definitely a good buy! 6913

I’ve yet to try the Nude Lipstick but as soon as I do, I’ll write a little something

btw… like my new watermark monster? haha MS Paint + boredom ftw!!

Canmake Cream Cheek Review

Quite a decent blogger I’m becoming! Two updates in two days and I already have another blog post that I’m going to post later this week-end!

Lately my life has been pretty boring (work, school, work…) but I’m really happy since B-Oppa is back in Montreal! Long time readers will remember that B-Oppa is an amazing friend with whom I’ve had hilarious drinking adventures. We are going to hang out together this week-end for a friend’s birthday, I can’t wait to see everyone together again!

Other then knowing my friend is in town, I got a package in the mail this morning which made my day; 2 canmake cream cheek blushes!

05 Sweet Apricot and 02 Cherry Pink

IMG_1397 IMG_1398
I have to say, at first, I thought I got fake ones since they are ridiculously small! So I looked at pictures of people holding their Canmake blushes and it reassured me that it is supposed to be the same size of a L’Oreal HIP eye shadow duo (no pictures but I just compared them side by side and it’s the same). Even though it is ridiculously small, the packaging is amazingly cute and you really have a lot of product.

The cream blush itself is quite pigmented and I’m sure these are going to last me a very long time. It’s also very easy to apply; I don’t think I’m ever going to use powder blush ever again since it’s so much easier to apply and blend. Both blushes have glitter in it but they are very fine and the Sweet Apricot has less then the Cherry Pink.

I’m not really good when it comes to make-up reviewing terms and all… but overall; I love these blushes and now I realllllly want to get all the colors available!!

That’s it for today… sorry I didn’t take any pictures of me with the blush applied… I bruised my upper lip and it’s quite swollen right now; it looks like someone punched me in the face! I’ll spare you at least that =) edit: here are some swatches instead!

IMG_1414 IMG_1416

oh yeah, temporary template… in need for a change; I want a bit more color then just black and white this time~ please bare with me while I’m playing around~

UPDATE: Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers!! You guys are so silly for celebrating one month late~ Haha just kidding, have a nice holiday (and enjoy all that crazy shopping you guys have in the US!)

More eyelashes !

Yay! Today I received another set of bulk eyelashes from ebay!

232257 232403

I really like them, very dramatic! What I like is that they don’t have that plastic shiny-ness some ebay lashes have: they are quite matte actually! Plus, the fact that 10 pairs only cost me 3$ including shipping… I <3 ebay!

Fake eyelashes are addicting!!

On a completely different note, I decided to retouch my high graduation picture: it’s amazing how just a few tweaks here and there can change a picture! I think I’ll print it and swap it with the original that my father has in his office!

No more weird shaped eyebrow!

OH! and circle lenses review coming up this week!

My make-up top 10

Yay!! Exams are FINALLY over and I’m officially in summer vacations! There are so many things I’ve been wanting to blog about so please look forward to that! Also, I twitted recently that I had an interview… well I got the job and I’m really happy! Fred is back in the hotel business!

In the mean time, a lot of you asked me many make-up related questions on formspring! So I decided to combine these to form a top 10 of my favourite make-up products~

1. Covergirl’s Lash Blast Length
This is my absolute favourite mascara. The formula top10is dry so you can apply many many layers and it doesn’t clump at all. Perfect if you just want clean and simple lashes without too much drama.

2. ELF High Definition Powder
This is a great finishing translucid powder. Not only does it set make-up quite nicely but it also erases fine lines and pores. Buy it… it’s only 6$ !

3. and 4. Maybelline’s Colorsensational lipsticks
I LOOOOOOOOOVE these lipsticks! My two favourite colors are 015 Born with it and 025 Pink Please. I can’t go anywhere without carrying one of these in my purse.

5. L’Oréal Paris’ Telescopic Explosion Mascara
I like this mascara a lot when it comes to applying mascara to my lower lashes. My lower lashes are quite long (I have to trim them once in a while…) so it gets quite messy with regular brushes.

6. ELF Cream Liner
I tried Coastal Scents’ gel liner… and it sucked. I was suspicious when I bought this liner but this 3$ line surprised me! It’s creamy, doesn’t smudge and last a long time even without primer! A must, in my opinion~

7. Almay’s Smart Shade Concealer
I stay up late playing video games or watching Buffy on my computer to dark circles are my enemies! My friend Hazuki recommended me this concealer on twitter and it’s by far one of the best concealer I tried! I also like ELF Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter but I couldn’t find it so I didn’t include it in the picture =(

8. Revlon’s Color Stay in Ivory
I don’t use foundation a lot but I like this one since it’s hydrating and as tiny bit of SPF 🙂 It’s light and buildable and it doesn’t feel cacky at all!

9. Maybelline’s Lash Stiletto
Another mascara that I mainly use for my bottom lashes~ It’s darker and tens to clump a bit but when I need a tiny brush and a waterproof formula, that’s what I go for =)

10. Maybelline’s Colossal Volume Express
My second absolute favourite mascara! It’s very dark and it’s great when I want to blend my lashes with my falsies.

There you have it~ If you guys have more questions or post ideas, make sure to leave a comment or write to me via the form in the contact section or on formspring!

À la prochaine~ signature
